Volunteer at WHALE Respite Center

EVERY CHILD IS A GIFT

At WHALE, we believe that every child is a gift. Our volunteers play a meaningful role in building inclusive communities where families who have children with delays/disabilities THRIVE through equal opportunities to live, learn, and play.

WHALE exists to change the story of caring for children with delays/disabilities by providing innovative respite, resources, and advocacy. If you share that heart, we invite you to join us.

Why Volunteer at WHALE?

The care and attention necessary to care for children — especially children with delays and disabilities — can leave families feeling drained, stressed, and isolated. Volunteers help us provide safe, supportive, and high-quality respite so families can rest, recharge, and feel supported.

Volunteering at WHALE is not just service. It is stewardship of children, families, and community.

Types of Volunteers

Center Volunteers

Center Volunteers work directly in the center with children, always under the direction and supervision of WHALE staff. Volunteers support teachers, follow classroom procedures, and exemplify excellence in the care of all children.

Event Volunteers

Event Volunteers assist at designated events in more administrative or support-based roles as needed.

Volunteer Expectations & Requirements
