Full Time Care
WHALE Respite Center offers full-time care in our infant, toddler, preschool, and UPK classrooms. Our highly trained staff specialize in supporting children as they grow from infancy through PreK. With a play-based curriculum that fosters language, social, and emotional development, children thrive in our nurturing environment. Each classroom is designed to encourage confidence, independence, and academic readiness in a supportive and loving space.
After School Care
Our After School Care program runs Monday–Friday from 3:00–6:00 PM for children ages 5–18. Designed for children with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, behavioral challenges, and mental health needs, this program focuses on building self-regulation and self-sufficiency skills. Children enjoy engaging activities, center-based learning, and weekly science projects that encourage teamwork and creativity. Staff provide individualized support while creating a fun, structured environment.
School Out Care
When school is not in session, WHALE offers full-day care for children ages 5–18. This program emphasizes social and emotional skill-building, teaching children how to express needs and develop positive peer relationships. Staff use visual supports, structured schedules, and evidence-based strategies to help children with language and transition challenges. Daily activities include academic lessons in math, science, and language, along with hands-on projects that promote independence and confidence. All staff are specially trained to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities, always focusing on the child first.
Social Skills Summer Camp
WHALE Respite Center’s Social Skills Summer Camp is a full-day program for children ages 5–18. Our camp focuses on building social and emotional skills, helping children learn to communicate their needs and express themselves effectively. Through structured activities, group projects, and peer interaction, children practice self-regulation, independence, and problem-solving. The supportive classroom environment encourages positive peer relationships, confidence, and meaningful friendships that last beyond the summer.
